Stillee Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026 · Last updated: July 1, 2026

Finding calm is a journey, and a personal one. Our hope is for Stillee to be a steady companion along the way — somewhere to breathe, rest, and steady yourself, any time you need it. Every real companionship starts with trust, so we take the privacy of what you share with us seriously.

This Privacy Policy explains how Competente Nuvem - Lda, a company based in Portugal and the provider of the Stillee app (“Stillee”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you access or use our website (the “Site”), mobile app (the “App”), and related products and services (together, the “Service”), and when you contact us.

Please review this Privacy Policy carefully and contact us if you have any questions. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Stillee supports everyday wellbeing and is not a medical or emergency service; if you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line.

1. What Data We Collect

We collect information that alone or together with other information could be used to identify you (“Personal Data”) as follows.

Personal Data You Provide. We collect these categories when you create an account, use the Service, or contact us:

  • Identification Data: the email address and name (or nickname) you provide, the password you set, the name and phone number of any emergency contact you choose to add, and unique identifiers from a third-party sign-in service if you sign in with Google.
  • Profile & Preferences Data: the focus areas, goals, and preferences you choose during onboarding (for example sleep, stress, or panic), and any optional profile details you add such as phone number, date of birth, or gender.
  • Wellbeing & Check-In Data: information you share about how you're feeling, sleeping, and coping — for example your mood check-ins, sleep notes, and the answers you give during onboarding. This information is processed solely to provide and personalize the Service for you. We don't use it for advertising and we don't sell it.
  • Journal Data: anything you write in your journal, including reflections and gratitude notes. These are stored encrypted (see Security).
  • Progress Data: information about your practice, such as meditation minutes, sessions and programs completed, streaks, and favorites.
  • Communication Data: information you provide when you contact us with questions or feedback, or respond to an optional survey. Providing this is up to you.

Automatically Collected Data. When you use the Service, some information is created and logged automatically:

  • Log Data: your IP address, the date and time of your activity, and how you interacted with the Service.
  • Device Data: your device model, operating system, and app version. What's collected can depend on your device and its settings.
  • Usage Data: how you use the Service — the features you use, the content you engage with, and the time, frequency, and duration of your activity.
  • Analytics & Session Replay Data: we use a product-analytics and diagnostics provider to understand usage and fix problems. This includes the usage and device data above, error reports, and session replay — a sampled recording of how screens are used, with the text you type masked and recording switched off on sensitive screens such as panic, sleep, and journal. We never send the content of your journals to analytics, and we don't send your specific mood labels (only a general score for trends). See §9 for your choices.

Cookies (Site). Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to run the Site and measure how it's used. Most browsers let you manage or refuse cookies in their settings. (Our mobile App does not use advertising cookies.)

Purchase Data. Stillee offers paid subscriptions through the app stores. Apple and Google process your payment — we do not collect or store your card number or full payment details. They share limited information with us to manage your subscription, such as confirmation of purchase, your subscription status, and a transaction identifier.

2. How We Use Data

We may use Personal Data to:

  • provide the Service and help you build and track your practice, and show your progress over time;
  • personalize the meditations, tools, and content we suggest, based on the preferences you share;
  • verify your account and authenticate your access;
  • respond to your questions, comments, and feedback;
  • send you administrative messages, such as account emails and changes to our terms or policies;
  • understand how people use the Service so we can maintain, improve, and develop it; and
  • keep the Service secure, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Some of this information relates to your wellbeing. We use it only to provide and personalize Stillee and, where the law requires, with your consent — never for advertising, and we never sell it.

Aggregated Information. We may aggregate Personal Data so it no longer identifies you and use that aggregated information to understand and improve the Service.

3. How We Share Data

Stillee does not sell your Personal Data, and we do not share it for advertising. In certain circumstances we may share the categories of Personal Data described above with the following categories of third parties:

  • Vendors and Service Providers: to run the Service, we share Personal Data with providers that perform services for us — including cloud hosting and content delivery, email delivery, sign-in, payment processing (through the Apple App Store and Google Play), and product analytics and error monitoring. Acting on our instructions, these parties access, process, or store Personal Data only to perform their duties to us, and cannot use it for their own purposes. We take commercially reasonable steps to hold them to appropriate security standards. We can provide the specific list of our providers on request at support@stillee.com.
  • Business Transfers: if we're involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be shared or transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you of any change in who controls your Personal Data.
  • Legal Requirements: we may disclose information if we believe in good faith it's necessary to comply with the law, enforce our rights, prevent fraud, protect the safety of users or the public, or protect against legal liability.

4. Children

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 18. If you are younger than 18, you must have consent from your parent or legal guardian before providing any Personal Data to us. If you believe a child under 18 has provided Personal Data to Stillee without parental consent, please contact us and we will work to delete it.

5. Other Websites

The Service may contain links to websites we don't operate or control. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. Please review their policies before submitting any personal data to them.

6. Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect Personal Data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. In particular:

  • we protect data in transit between the App and our servers with encryption; and
  • we encrypt at rest the things you write — your journal entries, reflections, and gratitude notes — and your saved emergency contact, using a key unique to your account.

This is encryption at rest, not end-to-end encryption: our systems can process your data to provide the Service. Other information (such as your email and the answers you give during onboarding) is held on our secured servers. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is ever fully secure, so please take care in deciding what you share. If a data breach ever affects your Personal Data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

7. International Users

Stillee is operated from Portugal, in the European Union, and processes information in the EU and in other countries — including the United States — where our service providers operate. Some of those countries may not offer the same level of data protection as your own. When we transfer Personal Data outside the EU, UK, or Switzerland (for example, to our US-based analytics provider), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

8. Apple Health & Health Connect

If you opt in, Stillee can read your recent sleep data to pre-fill your morning check-in, and can save your completed mindful minutes to Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) so they count toward your totals. This health data is used only to provide those features. It is not shared with third parties or used for marketing, and you can turn the connection off at any time in your device settings.

9. Your Choices

Account Information. You can review and update your profile in the app. To access, correct, or delete your account and its data, contact us at support@stillee.com and we'll action your request within a reasonable time; deleting your account permanently removes your profile, journals, and history. To reset your password, use the link on the sign-in screen. We may retain certain information where required or permitted by law.

Analytics. We use analytics and session replay as described in §1 to run and improve the Service. Some analytics are linked to your account and include which focus areas you selected, such as panic.

Notifications. Reminders are delivered as notifications from your device. You can change or turn them off at any time in your device settings.

10. Your Rights as a Data Subject (Europe & UK)

This section applies if you use the Service in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or Switzerland.

Legal Basis for Processing. We process your Personal Data:

  • as necessary to perform our contract with you (to provide the Service you request);
  • where we have a legitimate interest (to secure, improve, and understand use of the Service), balanced against your rights;
  • to process your wellbeing information and any other special-category data, on the basis of your consent — which you give when you choose to share that information and agree to this Privacy Policy;
  • as necessary to comply with our legal obligations; and
  • where you have otherwise given consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Data Retention. We keep Personal Data for as long as needed for the purposes described here, while we have a business need, or as required by law — whichever is longer. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see §9).

Your Rights. Subject to legal limits, you have the right to access the Personal Data we hold about you; to have it corrected, erased, or provided in a portable form; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — for Portugal-based Competente Nuvem, the lead authority is Portugal's CNPD; in the UK, the ICO — though we'd appreciate the chance to address your concerns first at support@stillee.com.

11. Your Rights as a U.S. Resident

California (CCPA/CPRA). In the past 12 months we collected the categories of Personal Data described in §1, including sensitive personal information (such as account credentials and information about your wellbeing) and commercial information (such as your subscription status), for the business purposes in §2, and shared it with the categories of third parties in §3. You have the right to know, access, correct, and delete your Personal Data, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not “sell” or “share” your Personal Data for cross-context behavioral advertising. Contact us to make a request; we will verify it against information we hold.

Some U.S. states (e.g., Washington, Nevada). Some of what you share may be treated as “consumer health data” under certain state laws. We do not sell this data, and you can request access or deletion by contacting us.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we'll revise the date above and, where appropriate, give you additional notice. We encourage you to review it whenever you use the Service.
